What is Serotonin? What if Serotonin were real people?

 

On a simplistic level, serotonin is a chemical that helps with the movement of information between the neurons of your brain. There are different types of chemicals that help with moving different types of information and these chemicals are all called neurotransmitters. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps the brain to communicate effectively within itself and to the rest of the body. People who are depressed generally have low levels of serotonin present in their brains. Healthy levels of serotonin are associated with feelings of well being, calmness and happiness. Serotonin is also sometimes associated with regulation of appetite, mood, sleep or wake cycles and fear levels. Serotonin also underlies the process of learning and consciousness.

So if serotonin were actual real people, what would they do? Well, they would help you communicate with others through various means and assist you to understand your own needs. They would help you regulate and manage the systems and people around you through clear thought out processes.

They would also generally uplift you since they would help you to learn new things easily, enable you to overcome your fears and reach your goals. Most of all, they would leave you feeling happier and better off for having had an experience with them.
